Re: Question on how to insert pictures

To insert pictures you have to upload them to some picture hosting service like Flickr first. Most of them offer links with different sizes, you need the one that fits into a 640x640 pixels square. For Flickr that would be the BBCode medium z, that you just copy and paste to your post. We also have ...

Re: Any ideas on how to do this model?

Now that was easy. 1 Fold the diagonals. 2 Make pinches at their half points. 3 Fold the corners to those pinches. 4 Fold the edges to those pinces. 5 Turn the paper over. 6 Fold the corners to the centre of the paper. 7 Unfold the edges from step 4 to get waterbomb bases at the corners. 8 Mountain ...

Re: Stop Motion Origami

Hello dotchnoy, welcome on board. Just a short notice, I edited your posts to make the embedded youtube links working. To embed, you need only the numbers and letters behind https://youtu.be/ the full link unfortunately doesn't work. So please always make sure to delete the unnecessary part. If you ...

Re: How much paper is left from my roll?

Come on 300cm what equals 3 meters with something missing already is too much to unroll? Are you sure you don't mean 3000cm equalling 30 meters?

Re: When to stop using regular kami?

I want to throw in here that there are several different papers that are called kami that vary greatly in properties, quality and price. When I speak about Kami, I usually mean these blue boxes with 500 fairly thin and strong sheets: https://www.origami-shop.com/en/paperorigami15500scrapbookingoriga...

Re: size of paper

That totally depends on the model. Complex models will usually have a higher ratio from initial paper size to finished model than simple models. In some rare cases the designer will give you this ratio at the beginning of the diagrams ( example ) but usually you have to find out by folding the model...

Re: My (short) write up on origami paper charateristics

Nice compilation of paper characteristics. You should note though that the gsm (grams per square meter) is the density of the paper not the thickness. The density can correlate with the thickness, but doesn't need to. Paper can be very heavy, yet thin and vice versa. Just as an example Lokta feels r...

Re: New post not showing in the list?

This happened because Lazma who is a newbie with less than 3 posts edited the already approved post they made in this topic. When someone with less than 3 posts edits a post it needs to be reapproved by a Moderator and thus vanishes from the sight of everyone else (unfortunately even the author them...
