Probably in hardware stores. Ask for wallpaper paste. It is the same stuff that is also used to glue advertisements to poster boards or that is used to make papier mache figures. Pharmacies might carry it as well but usually for a higher price.

Re: An origami enquiry
As much as I'd love the envelope openers to get into production again, I have to issue a warning. They had a patent pending. No idea whether they ever got it but you might get into troubles if just copy their design. According to the embossed text on the envelopeners they were made in Holland (so ye...

Re: Supplies for a beginner (a child)
As for the paper I would recommend to get her a pack of this Kami: https://www.origami-shop.com/en/paperorigami15500scrapbookingorigamishopcom-xml-219_346_347-620.html It is very good quality and with a 500 sheets it will last some time. For books I would recommend something by Paulo Mulatinho or Ri...

Re: Treemaker
Yes, it is not that easy to use and it also doesn't give you a folding sequence, let alone a pretty one. Lots of tweaking and adjusting is necessary if you want to achieve that goal. It is a good tool but it's not as if you would feed it a drawing and get out a beautiful set of diagrams for a perfec...

Re: Treemaker
Just what Baltorigamist said, with the addition, that what you fold from a base is entirely up to you. Even if a base has just the right amount of flaps for lets say a tiger, you might as well fold a bear from it or a dog or a chair. A model doesn't consist of its base alone, what you make from the ...

Re: two sqrt two to one ratio for rectangle
If you ask me that's just a silver rectangle (e.g. A4, A5,...= 1:√2) cut in half lengthwise (=1:2√2).

Re: Kasahara llama
Okay, I see. What you have to do is to make some additional folds before the paper gets collapsed. You made a square with valley folds by folding the sides to the middle. Turn the paper over and bring those folds (now mountains) to the middle to create another square inside the one you just made. If...

Re: Kasahara llama
For the model, step 5 is a spread squash. Meaning you take the upper layer and pull it to the right. While doing so, the two inner triangles will move up. You have to open them from the sides (top and down in the drawing) and press them flat with a squash.

Hello and welcome on board. The album you linked to is set to private, therefore we can't see the pictures. Theoretically Photobucket should be fine as picture host. Flickr has some nice features that allow for easy linking, but Photobucket should work as well if you change the album permissions. Mo...

Re: What have you folded lately?
Good work. Maybe you should get yourself a bonefolder. Those come in very handy when working with paper as stiff as elephant hide. Back in the days when I folded exclusively with ultra thin papers I couldn't understand why people would use bonefolders but nowadays that I use a broader range of paper...

Hi Bass, I recommend you to read through the "Origami Diagramming Conventions" article by Robert J. Lang: https://langorigami.com/article/origami-diagramming-conventions/ Even though it is not the newest it still holds true in many aspects and contains some valuable information. It is recommendable ...

Re: What To Fold
Such a small and thick paper might be either good for tessellations or for wet folding. Maybe a model by Roman Diaz might be fitting.
