Re: Pocket Tissue Holder
Well, I do have an idea, based on this traditional box: http://www.origami.at/diagrams/simple_box.pdf using a 25.5 x 25.5 cm square for a box that is 10 cm high, 5.5 cm wide and 2 cm deep and exactly fits the pocket tissues that are commonly sold in my area. There are a few adjustments that have to ...

Re: Trying to buy copy of out-of-print book
Origami USA has a lending library that lists the book, so you could lend it there to make sure it is the one you want before continuing your search to buy it: https://origamiusa.org/lending-library

Re: Advice for painting origami paper
It depends a bit on what exactly you want to achieve. There are a ton of options how to paint Kami. My preferred way is to use an airbrush and highly pigmented opaque airbrush colours. The main advantage of that method is that the paper doesn't get wet but only slightly moist because the fine mist f...

Re: Thin Duo Colour Paper
To tell the truth, I think that a good air compressor is more important than the right airgun. I've got cheap china guns as well as an expensive one from the US that was highly recommended on the airbrush forums and to tell the truth, I don't see much of a difference. Given that I paint the paper pr...

Re: From crease pattern to diagram
If you want to draw diagrams you first need to think of a sequence how to fold the model. Usually with CPs you first precrease to a certain point, then collapse into a base and finally complete with shaping. A diagram shows exactly this process. The usual starting point is a blank square that gets d...

Admins are also weird about answering to topics that are ten years old. Do you really think that whoever asked a question back then hasn't found the answer by now?

Re: Thin Duo Colour Paper
You really only need a very thin coating. The airbrush makes it possible to work with tiny amounts of colour and still get amazing results. Airbrush colours are pretty expensive though, but you like I said, you only need a tiny amount. I've worked with them on ultra thin almost translucent rice pape...

Re: Thin Duo Colour Paper
Airbrushing the lighter side with opaque colours works but needs special equipment...and if you are already at it you can airbrush both sides as well to get ultra thin duo-colour paper.

Re: Hi. Closed cube made from a single A4 sheet?
Oh, one thing I should mention, the word diagonal that I used is technically speaking wrong in this case, because what you really want are angle bisectors starting at the inner corners.

Re: Hi. Closed cube made from a single A4 sheet?
Well, A4 is not quite 3x4, but close enough. There are probably a dozen ways to fold a cube from a 3x4 grid, but here is a simple one with clean outer edges: https://photos.app.goo.gl/LGyS9i423DM7uXud6 First make your grid. Then add the six diagonals as shown with orange being mountain and green val...

Re: Hi. Closed cube made from a single A4 sheet?
Right out of my head I don't remember a closed cube from an A4 sheet, but there is a pretty ingenious one from a square: https://erikdemaine.org/thok/delian.html

Re: Looking for Flying Spaghetti Monster crease pattern
The model is by Eileen Tan and the Crease pattern was located on her blog, that unfortunately has vanished a long time ago. Unfortunately it seems I didn't save a copy of said CP, so your only chance would be to try and contact Eileen. I haven't heard from her in ages what is a real pity, she was an...

Well, in this case I'd second the recommended Tant, but would suggest to get a pack of coordinating shades like this one.
