Re: slopes
It is how much something is tilted. For example a mountain has a slope that can be steep or shallow. I'm sure other people can explain it better, so here is a more technical explanation: https://www.e-education.psu.edu/natureofgeoinfo/book/export/html/1837 Wikipedia has an article about Slopes in Ge...

Re: Where do you guys usually get your origami paper?
Where in Europe are you located. Maybe if you tell us the country some Forum member knows where you can get good paper in your area. Apart from the already mentioned origami-shop https://www.origami-shop.com/ , there is also Miyabi https://www.origami-papier.eu/ and the Viereck Verlag https://vierec...

Re: Out of print diagrams
I'm not aware of any diagrams for Sipho Mabona's elephant. The Crease Pattern has been published in Creased Magazine 9 as well as the 2013 AEP Convention book. Some Origami associations do have lending libraries, you might be able to borrow one of those publications there. Another possibility would ...

Re: Most suitable paper
There are two things I recommend you to try. Number one try out making your own double tissue paper and tissue foil. The ingredients are cheap and easy to find. Here are two videos by Sara Adams that explain step by step how to do it: https://www.happyfolding.com/instructions-double_tissue https://w...

Re: how to make your model stand
There are many ways to make your model stand. It starts with designing it that way, that the paper distribution plays in your favour, but that's not always feasible. You can try using stronger paper like elephant hide or if you want something that holds its shape tissue foil. If that doesn't help yo...

Re: Paper for these specific models.
But you pay a monthly payment right? And of course they asked the authors permission cause they wouldn't just keep silent and I don't really use it Well, I fear that's not the case. At least most of the Origami stuff there has been uploaded illegally and as long as no one complains they just assume...

Re: Help needed finding the Joas booklets
Well, could you maybe provide a cover picture of what you mean? I'm pretty certain that there is no such thing as JOAS booklets. Being around and active in the Origami world for quite some years now, I guess I would have heard of them if they existed. There are the Tanteidan magazines that JOAS publ...

Re: tanteidan magazine English version
There is no separate English version but an inlay with the English translation. So if you order the Tanteidan magazine, you get the Japanese booklet and some pages with translations. You can order it at https://origami.jp/en/register/ One more thing, this is a rather new service, so if you order bac...

Hello and welcome on board. I take it you're speaking about this Crease Pattern: https://langorigami.com/crease-pattern/emperor-scorpion-opus-593/ May I ask how experienced you are with CPs? This is not exactly the easiest CP to start with. I myself would start collapsing the main pleats around the ...

Re: Origami paper egypt
It is very unlikely that there isn't any tissue paper in Egypt. Aren't there any art supply stores? It should be the thinnest paper they have. Of course you can buy it online but it is hard to believe that it isn't possible to find it locally there. I see that it is hard to find if you don't know th...

Another usage is to wrap flowers, so you might even be lucky to get some at a florist.
