Actually there are three models that I have been folding in such situations: crane, Kawasaki rose and Eric Joisel's rat.
I also doodle a lot.

Very nice beetle. It´s some of this "not to hard to fold but very good looking" models. I´ve refolded it, but I think I should use tissue foil for a better looking result. (Your beetle is looking great!) Thanks! I used quite thick paper (100gsm, 20x20cm) but it was the first time when I reached f...

Today I made a beetle from waterbomb base.

I like the human figures Anna. Nice idea of making shoes. :)

Neither have I, but I've seen some step by step instructions on how to fold Fujimoto's tessellations at Ravi Apte's gallery.

I guess they're nice ones to start with.

The side of a square was 1.35m long.
More precisely it was 1351.1mm long. :) That's what my calculations returned.

Yes, the diagram may prove to be confusing. It's caused by the angle at which the pictures were taken. To reach step 5 you should simply make a squash fold http://www.free.of.pl/f/foty/sinki/papuga1.jpg Then make two inside reverse folds to get this http://www.free.of.pl/f/foty/sinki/papuga2.jpg I h...

The book recommends using paper of atleast 50x50 cm. I used 50x50 cm kraft paper which wasn't very thin, and found it too thick to work with in the end. So I'd suggest you find some bigger stuff. Maybe you can find a big roll of giftwrap paper (those are usually about 70 cm wide), and as thin as po...

Hi! I'm very pleased to see that you took interest in my model. Here are some clues: 1. Of course start from dividing side of the square into fifths. 2. Fold a diagonal 3. make a crease from 2/5 of the side to the corner 4. Make two more creases at the same angle as the one between diagonal and the ...

Hey! Nice tries with the horses. A few more days and you will go down to 2cm square. However today I tried to fold Hideo Komatsu's wolf from cp. I was folding from usual white xero paper so finally I decided to paint it. I kept the brush in my hand for the first time since kindergarten (what can be ...
