Re: What have you folded lately?

Folderp, I am really impressed with your folding, especially the miniature Bahamut which is out of this world! I'm sorry that your excellent work was met with what passes for sardonic wit or lectures on how to use a camera. Please don't become discouraged. This forum is not a place that nurtures tal...

Re: What have you folded lately?

I've folded Takashi's Violinist from 70 cm vintage kami. I used such large paper to combat the relative thickness of this box pleated model.

Re: Monthly Design Challenge March 2018

David, it's up to Goldtiger and Tony to decide what will and will not be accepted in this challenge. I agree except if you add to your sentence "at the beginning of the month." It sets a dangerous precedent if the challenge is re-interpreted or even transformed in the middle of the competition. If ...

Re: Monthly Design Challenge March 2018

@Tony Koppers that's fine you're the judge, but here's why it might not actually count. Least Concern means the species has been evaluated by the IUCN, but do not qualify as vunerable, endangered, critically endangered, extinct in the wild, or extinct. Probably only the first four of those should b...

Re: What have you folded lately?

I folded Komatsu's Tiger for a gift. Hardest thing I've ever folded. It took 9 hours total including practice. Unfortunately the only bicolored large paper that I had with sufficient contrast is that terrible gold Oshop TF. That was their first generation of papers that is just too soft. But I made ...

I don't think that the OP was patiently waiting 8 years for your reply. I think he has folded a dragonfly and moved on!

I folded Kawahata's T-rex for the first time. The original version from Origami Fantasy. Folded from 35 cm I did manage the teeth but they are not perfect. Despite the overall impressive size of the finished model, I think I need to go bigger to be more precise in the teeth folding.

Still I would like to come back to this someday when I'm a better folder. actually this model can be fun to fold. throw out purism. measure the references by pencil...

Re: Folding advice for Origami Shop Discovery packet?

I folded Diaz' Bullfrog out of the lizard paper. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4694/39565765445_8884509985_z.jpg Diaz' Bullfrog by David Whitbeck , on Flickr This is what I think of the paper: It is thick, but not like elephant hide. I would say that it is similar to tant but perhaps slightly thinn...

Re: Folding advice for Origami Shop Discovery packet?

Yes, the hanji and unryu require MC. As far as what to fold, you might get a better response in the topic Crease mentioned. It's in General as well, albeit maybe a couple pages back. I've taken your advise and cross-posted but with 117 views on this thread, I don't see that will help. There seem to...
