One "sheet" of banana paper. (I've actually found paper made of fibres from a banana "tree", but this obviously is something else. :)) But this model involves cutting! (And if you can't figure it out without diagrams, you're not as good a folder as I thought you were! :P) You just like to keep him ...

no, not suggesting copyright breaks
I just meant that you combine ideas from different sources in your mind to help you fold things correctly. Also, I may have made a little mistake explaining the closed sink as well. I'll have to fix that.

picture three
the third picture on there is the closed sink that I've seen before most commonly. It didn't take me that long to learn, I'll give a simple technique:  First valley fold the tip down where you want the closed sink. Then Spread-squash the tip. Then invert it. Sink it in. If you...

Eh? Homemade tissue foil is in general cheaper, per square metre, than kami, but takes some time to make. Other cheap alternatives are large rolls of newsprint / brown kraft paper / tracing paper / florists foil / burger wraps that you can get at stationery and food packaging wholesalers. All of th...

the art of folding a thousand cranes
This website actually has the scanned pages of the oldest book published about origami. Sure, it's not so easy cuz it's in Japanese (old Japanese, to tell the truth.) But the pictures are very clean. You can check it out here.

Re: What?!
BigFIFan: calm down! You mention that creators are greedy by not publishing their diagrams. Have you considered the time and effort required to make a complete set of diagrams? ... And from what I've heard, Joseph (Wu) is always willing to share his folding methods at conventions. Oh, and remember,...

No, Mr. Wu does not create diagram. His site has all the diagrams and crease pattern he has. It is much better to ask him to teach you to fold the model than asking him for the diagram. :x Doh! :x I don't live in Vancouver BC!!!!! I live closer to the other Vancouver though. Still... What would I d...

that guy did different
That guy did a modification for his own calyx. However, I looked through the instructions and found that he tells exactly which steps are his own modifications. I still want the original instructions because all the pictures after his modified steps are still, well... modified . It's just a nitpicky...
