Transporting: I use plastic bins (Rubbermaid, Tupperware, etc.) inside of a hard shell suitcase. The clothes go around the bins as extra padding.

Eric Joisel does this as part of his class when he teaches folding faces. He presses a piece of paper onto his face, and then dumps a cup of water on his head!
