Re: Dividing a square piece of origami into 17 parts
Crossing diagonals! Precrease the top and right edges into fourths, and make a crease from the bottom left corner to the first fourth up the right side. In the same way, make a crease from the bottom right corner to the fourth on the top closest to the right side. The intersection of these diagonals...

Paper for Water - Origami Fundraising
Hello everyone! I've addressed the topic of Paper for Water https://paperforwater.org/ before, but only in passing. Today I'd like to briefly resolve that and to let everyone know about a fundraiser we're holding this month. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Paper for Water, we are a non-prof...

Re: Tissue foil vs Biotope for the ancient dragon?
You'll have a better chance with the biotope, but neither of those papers are ideal. An easily accessible paper that will work is 35 cm Japanese foil, but that is a bit tricky. Double tissue would be ideal if you can make it. Origamishop also sells Shadowfold paper in 70cm squares - this is thin eno...

Haha we still dont have enough info.
If you weighed the whole thing that would help though! Could take an estimate for the cardboard tube weight and then solve for something in the range of the actual length

Re: How much paper is left from my roll?
That would work. As Baltorigamist said, it's definitely going to be easiest to unroll. If you had the original diameter, and the diameter of the inner gap, you could get the area the full roll took up in cross section (like a donut), and the cross-sectional area now, and use ratios to estimate how m...

Re: How much paper is left from my roll?
How thick was the roll when you started, and how much of the roll is empty/taken by a cardboard tube?

Butterfly.
Second look also makes me think of a barely-open mouth sporting a seriously wild mustache and goatee, but im sticking with my original interpretation.
