New day, new month and a new challenge…
Due to the popularity of January’s challenge, I decided to return to colour-changed origami, but this time a bit more specific.

The Challenge for March is BLACK AND WHITE
My reasons for this theme - Black and white are the most contrasting colours, and also the most difficult to back-coat. So info on your paper preparation will be appreciated.

Rules:
-No other colours apart from black and white will be eligible for a place on the podium.
-The subject should be black and white in real life (so don’t fold a black and white lion!)
-Human figures are allowed
-Remember, it is black AND white, not black OR white, so colour-change is compulsory.
-Preferably from a square, but rectangles are allowed.
-No cutting
-It has to be your own original design, not seen before on this forum.
-Submission have to be in before the 31st of March (2009), 12:00 am Pacific time.
The judge will be Andrey Ermakov, and he will also choose the theme for April’s challenge.

So get the right side of your brains working and think of something creative!!!

This is starting to scare me... http://www.pliagedepapier.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2845

Looks like I get to retry my zebra, or try to turn it into a zebra dog.

Cupcake, I don't speak French, but I take it this has been done on the French Forum? Coincidence, or what!
Anyway, we're still going with it!
Black and White everybody...

I'm thinking of making a pedestrian crossing (Zebra crossing). But it's a bit of an engineering challenge to try to get enough stripes.

Edit: I just looked at that french forum and I see that someone has already beaten me to it. Maybe I'll just stick with animals.

Edit: I also notice that the rules for this month don't state that it has to be our own new design. Is that right or did you just forget to write it?

That guy bobbob from the French forum was really original to do the famous Abbey road scene witht the 4 Beatles crossing. I think I understand he says it is a variation from another model. does anyone know which one is it?

It's a variation of one of his own models. He had done it before in plain white, without color change. For this challenge, he added a graft to perform the color change.

Hmm, the most unexpected thing I can come up with are a siberian tiger and a mime. Maybe a yin-yang symbol or dice.

Eh I'm not sure if I will participate since I have problems with finishing all my fold but want to ask can the paper be silver black since I could have problems with making black and white one?

Alright! My pedestrian crossing is complete!

The folding method was inspired by the similar model seen on the french forum, I hope it can still be eligable as my own design. It's not the same as the one there. Just a similar way of folding it.

It was folded from 15x15cm black and white origami paper, and the final model is 5.5x7.5cm
