I'm looking for diagrams for the Horned Owl by Hideo Komatsu. I understand they were published in a Tanteidan that is no longer in print. The CP is available on his website, but I can't fold from a CP. Can anyone here direct me to where I can purchase this issue?

I was able to fold the owl from the cp after two days of frustration. in a few days time I will post a cp that shows the mountain and valley folds, along with a bit of extra info. I'll post it as soon as possible.

The tanteidan issue in which the diagrams are published is long out of print and cannot be purchased. However, diagrams of good models tend to resurface, and I believe they will be published somewhere in the future.

Thanks to having PCOC in Phoenix this year (that's where I live) arrangements were made to get a copy, and was received just this past Saturday. It's one of the nicest models I've ever folded.

I wonder if Hideo Komatsu will ever publish a book with all of his origami diagrammed in it? I'll be first in line!

P.s. you will find that the model takes on a 3d shape. You just have to sculpt the paper to your taste.

i am still haveing some troubles...mainly with the eyes

as for the body, i assume you have to turn the bottom in? wheni do it gets REALLY wrinkly, and it doesnt lock or anything, and again, the eyes dont seem to be correct, i dont understand how you can do that many valley folds together?

and so not to have discouraged you too much, it looks ALOT more like an owl now that you have shown me your CP ... hehe it is coming along, but i still have some troubles
