|
|
From his email, I think Frucco has asked me to pick a subject. I'll keep simple enough...
"Something Fishy"
I've always wanted a huge fish-tank, but never had a large enough flat to house one. Your challenge for this month, should you choose to accept it, is to fold something that I could put in this fish tank. It can be a tropical fish. If you think I deserve a very big fish tank, then you could fold a shark. Or you could fold a shopping trolley or a miniature castle if you want one.
Rules
-Any number of squares or shapes can be used.
-You can design a scene, too.
-You may use glue, if you must
-Paint, glitter, etc, is allowed.
-No cutting.
-You must use your own design. This may be modified from someone else's design.
-The model must NOT have been folded or posted on the internet before November 2007
-Please post a photo, along with the title, paper used, and any comments about the design.
The judge will be Quentin Trollip, who will choose the fishiest design, i.e., the one that he thinks should go in my imaginary fish-tank.
Quentin and myself are barred from winning, but not from entering.
May the best folder win! _________________ I once set up an origami PLC. But the business folded. |

As Paul Revere once said, "One if by lamnd, Two if by sea"
I didn't have an Aquarium - so I had to fold one:
The Aquarium glass is one sheet of uncut overhead transparency. The frame is my slip and stick folded from card stock. No cutting or glue !
The boats are folded from one square origami paper each - The water version is foil but did get soggy when it capsized! _________________ Charles "Doc" Santee

Ahh, good to see another challenge. I've already folded a fish and a whale, but I certainly will be trying something new. _________________ Cupcake

Since your tank is big enough that ships can sail on its top, you obviously need a mermaid.

The big fish is one square.
The little fish with the slider tail is a rectangle.

I know, a frog on a lillie pad might be more appropriate for the aquarium, but I thinks someone else has already done that!!
The combined Forg box is one uncut rectangle. _________________ Charles "Doc" Santee

Ok, what's going on. Why no entries. If we keep it like this, I'll only have 3 people to choose winners from!!! So this way all of them will be on the podium!
Come on, get those entries in for the challenge!!!
Only 1/3 month left! |

This is how the challenge that I judged ended up, with 4 submissions. I'll get folding though. _________________ Cupcake

well there's the other sea challenge i think.
and the x-mas book.
i'm sorry but this month i will not post models for this challenge, not enough time and inspiration... for years i was so unconfortable with sea and fishes! now i love these things but i still have to find my voice with this kind of subject...
anyway good luck to all involved _________________ 0 = 2 |

I've gone through a couple ideas, but nothing has clicked. I just haven't been very inspired with this topic-it is not a bad topic, don't get me wrong, but inspiration comes when it comes-you can't force it. A combination of that and a lack of time is probably the culprit behind the sparsity of the entries this month. If what I'm folding now works out, though (which I think it will), I should have an entry. _________________ My Flickr |

Man. I've been thinking about designing a zebra pleco (a relative of the catfish) for a while, but i haven't goot too far. I need more practice at designing! With university, I just haven't had the time lately

I thought about a shell of a pearl oyster (with the pearl).
Not sure that I'll get to it before the end of the month. If anyone wants to try it, be my guest. _________________ Gadi V.
