A superb initiative Stephen - will try to enter! The submissions so far appeal to me at least as much (if not more) than the originals - I'm a simple guy at heartFishgoth wrote:The contest is 'Kamiya Satoshi in less than 30 steps'.
I've seen the twisted rose before, but it's great anyway - the joy of creation is the main thing, originality is so hard to achieve with simpler designs.

Kamiya's Wizard. 30ish steps, depending on how you count the shaping. It's 27 steps before you round the staff and shape the robe and pinch the face.

I have decided to submit a model that is a significant simplification of my "Kaleidoscopic Twister"
This one is folded from one square and folded in less than 30 steps.

Here is the original - which folding in cellophane is unbelievably difficult.

Inspired by Cuong's Eagle, and also Sara's Eagle i created my own. But it's basically different than Sara's (~19 folds)

You can say i am just a newbie. It's even non-full 1 year i am with origami. So i am just beginner on creating my own models, and it's not so easy to came up with some astonishing my own works with less than 30 folds. I created this because i liked Cuong's Eagle so much. Maybe later i'll create better, more creative models

This is what I came up with. It is my first design. I think it is about 40 creases but believe it can easily be diagrammed in 30 steps. I divided a square in 3ths and rabit eared 2/3 of it. The corner became the trunk the rabbitears the ears. The legs were obviously formed by crimps. Then who I was inspired by: Quentin Trollip his elephant. That one is perfect. My brother, Robert, made the pictures.
