So happy to have discovered this forum!
My name is Stacie and I live in West Michigan near Grand Rapids. I am pursuing origami as my full time career since relocating to the Midwest from the West Coast in 2014. In particular I love to work in miniature, hence my user and business name: Tinygami.
I do have a website for those interested in viewing the mobiles of 1000 tiny cranes I've been making for years now. http://tinygami.com
I am always happy to share information of how I do things and find materials so feel free to ask if you're curious about techniques or places I shop.
Hello from West Michigan

Stacie, you should come to CenterFold in Columbus Ohio. Lots of info about it on the web.
While I admit to making a bold faced plug, there is method to my madness. One of our frequent participants, Kathleen Sheridan, does exactly what you're trying. Her website is http://origamiandyou.com. I suspect comparing notes would be helpful to both of you, and she's super nice. You can even meet me, though I'm a rotten scoundrel.
