For this month's contest, I decided on a topic that, I hope, should get as much participation as the August contest. Here it is : you get to fold ANYTHING you want... as long as it is folded from a triangle. It's as simple as that.

The rules :
1) Whatever you wish to fold must be from a triangle.
2) The triangle you use can be of any shape, but regular ones are favored (equilateral and isosceles right triangle). It would be best to specify what type you used, too.
3) Only one triangle is allowed per submission.
4) No cuts nor glue, obviously.
5) You may only submit something that you have designed specifically for this challenge.
6) You may submit as many models as you wish.

Cephalopod will be the judge of this contest. This said, good luck to all of you (mainly the purists) with this challenge!

Triangle!! that will be fun

Fun challenge! I'm so used to thinking in terms of a square...this would be difficult for me if I could join in.

hmmm...interesting challenge, though I'm too used to squares...I will try though...

Here is David Brill's horse, a true origami classic. The base he uses is folded from an equilateral triangle, and generates a variety of flaps, which Brill has used for his Lion pack model, and many others. Diagrams are here : http://www.brilliantorigami.com/horse.pdf

Jon, it's funny you say that. I was gonna post to challenge you to come up with something that is hex-pleated, but you beat me to it!!!

needs some more shaping, for instance at tail, but i found the unusual form of the wings quite interesting
