Here's mine:

It's obviously the flying V, folded from an uncut equilateral triangle. It has 6 strings, though It's hard to see them in this photo (See my flickr for a bigger size)

I've made a bird out of an isosceles right triangle. I really don't know what kind of bird it is, a chicken hawk or something equivalent?
Folded out of a big roll of unknown paper I found in the recycle shop in the Boston Children's Museum.

with a little more time to fold and better paper quality this bird would probably become a very nice model, shabadu!

Grizzly man, very nice idea!

Shabudon, the bird is great! Even using some moderate quality kami would make this great, though printer paper does not cut it.

Thank you for the advice. I went out today and picked up some tracing paper to design with, and after a few iterations ended up settling on this:

I think it's a sparrow?

A heron from a 45-45-90 triangle (half of a square)

With some plain blue wire, the stand would look a bit like ripples in the water. Sadly, I don't have anything but the blue-yellow stripes.

Absolutely excellent, excellent! I wonder I have not thought it up by myself!
