I think the hind legs define the model, which in this case I disagree with you Anna since the legs on the model are not white high up on the legs like your picture.

You can find spaniels in almost every colour combination, the one in the picture is just an example. The overall form is that of a cavalier king charles spaniel and especially the head (sorry but the head doesn't look like that of a bearded collie at all).
By the way firstfold I think you've done a terrific job on this model, it doesn't just look like a dog, but exactly like a cavalier king charles spaniel.

I am not an expert in dog breeds, but after comparing that nice dog folded by firstfold to results returned by Google for Bearded Collie and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel or just to pictures posted by Anna & firstfold, I'm definitely leaning towards Bearded Collie.

Great work mikiller, I like it very much!

Steller's Sea Eagle
From a single uncut square.
I made changes to the leg feathers, talons, wing feathers and beak compared to the first version.

I had trouble obtaining a bright white when usinc MC to prepare the paper. Eventually, I used unryu-kitchen foil-unryu, and was surprised that it folded quite well.

OK! It's time to rip on a newbie. Here are my submissions: Guess what? A penguin and a polar bear.
Please be kind, I'm not as tough as some of you!

I started designing in November. Any suggestions besides getting more original?

Its an assassin! The sword and inside of the cape are as close to white as I could get them (light gray).

Getting More Original

Re: Getting More Original ?

Mike - You're off to a terrific start.... My suggestion for getting more original... is to start folding & copying the models of the designers that you admire. In that way, you'll learn the basics, if if you're lucky, you'll make mistakes that you can learn from.

Then, try to make variations to understand why the models were designed that way. Also, explore different techniques of wetfolding on the same model.

The models that you've submitted, remind me of the minimalist styles of Giang Dinh, Bernie Peyton, and Saadya Sternberg. And, you might explore their models, and combining their techniques with yours and others.

When you understand the basics, it'll be easier to jump off into more original designs...

Keep it up.

I like the simple lines of Frydrych's Eagle and Swallow.

I also like Quentin's Eagle, especially the head and beak. With raptor models, one frustration I see is that the care taken to design the grace of the body is not always balanced with the impression of strength and power in the talons and beak. This model shows both grace and power.
