These are the two last models I have folded. Both are based on Joseph Wu Three-banded Armadillo, Tolypeutes tricinctus. I made the Seven banded armadillo, Dasypus septemcinctus and the Nine-banded armadillo, Dasypus novemcinctus. I used sandwich paper E-type. Size: 25 x 25 cm

Nice Armadillos Eric, that was one of the first complexes figures I've folded, I love the way it get closed at the end, but always had troubles with the ears...

well, I wasn't sure to show this, ...but who cares, I was just having fun...

The Ancient Dragon, made on cheap wrapping paper 6.3"x6.3" (16x16 cm), took me one and a half days folding...

The seven banded armadillo is very cute, never thought on folding Josephs model, but after seeing your pictures, maybe I should give it a try.

I agree, armadillo looks fantastic.
I haven't seen this one on the forum (as a matter of fact, I've only seen a few of them on the internet):

Robert Lang - Shizuoka Cicada (from Tanteidan magazine 84)
from 27x27 tissue paper (and yes, I had to strengthen the legs with a drop of glue, it is tissue after all...)

Looking at these pictures/photos makes me feel like a beginner! I'd rate myself as an interdeiate folder although I have managed to fold some complex models, not perfectly but identifiable. The one that comes to mind is Charles Esseltines VW Bug. Then I look at some models rated interdeiate or advanced beginner and I think 'No Way, not going to even try!'

I'd take photos, but I have trouble gaining access to a camera at present.

I recommend the one I've made. It's easier than the one from OI II and it looks better. The difference isn't that crucial though, so that one would be the second choice (if you can't get diagrams for the first one).
