Thanks Joshua. If you do try the models at some point, please let me know if you have any thoughts on the diagrams. A lot of people have folded the unicorn, but I only know of a couple who have tried the other two.

I just realized I never posted the whole reason why I made those crabs. Later folds were cleaner (it's an old photo at this point), but dents and wrinkles aside, I thought the picture was still funny.

This was the best documentation I was able to make for the crab some time ago, which is nowhere near as nice as my other tutorials:
http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs46/f/2009/ ... aQuick.pdf
It has a few of the initial folds marked with the rest being crease pattern-like. I'm still not sure really how to diagram the steps after the crease pattern markings, since it becomes 3-D at that point. The only other documentation I've got is a video of me making one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCuIdFsWpPc
Unfortunately, the video is super-fast since it was just intended to prove that the crabs in the "crab attack" photo did come from single pieces of paper (rather than to show exactly how to do it). I think I still have all of the original real-time videos though. I might be able to dig those up and try to isolate the relevant parts as normal speed videos to supplement the cruddy diagrams, since I don't think I'll be able to produce a step-by-step diagram series any time soon.

Donya, I love the elephant and giraffe! You have such a strong style... I'd recognize your creations anywhere. Sorry I didn't get a chance to comment when you posted them... I've been away from the forum too long.
The world's worst photographer now has a flickr account... enjoy!

Another oldy I forgot about...
Both are from about the same size paper.
Also, a small family of somewhat better-folded octopi (the red ones anyway) than I had at the time of the triangle challenge:
Photograph isn't quite as good...my skill with a camera is still pretty hit and miss. Diagrams I think are in the other thread, but I'll put them here too: http://www.deviantart.com/download/1388 ... aQuick.pdf

Thanks Juston! I was absent for some time too; I seem to be mostly limited to breaks between semesters for serious designing and folding.juston wrote:Donya, I love the elephant and giraffe! A new fold of my Parasaurolophus with some thick paper:
Both the sheet I folded and the one used as a background are paper handmade by my mother-in-law. It's so soft to the touch!

I gave paper making a go this weekend by recycling old news papers. I have a long way to go before I can make paper as soft and sculptable as my mother-in-aw creates, but my first sheet was still possible to fold (with a lot of effort for a very simple design):

Simple hens:
The left one is from 15cm square, the right is from a somewhat smaller square of my own paper (a thinner version of what I used for the elephant).

Donya, I folded the Parasaur walrus and the unicorn. All the diagrams are amazing. They are well made and easy to fold, I will fold the rest of your models soon and take pictures when I can. I may have some trouble with the crab though. I hope you can design some more models.

Thanks Endreon I have a small backlog of diagrams waiting to be cleaned up and put into the right format. I hope to have them posted before things get too busy in the fall.

Reposting this image since diagrams are FINALLY up for my Iguanodon.

Others will hopefully be up soon. Sorry it has taken so long for me to get these up. Plesiosaur diagrams are done but not formatted, and the Ankylosaur diagrams are rather messy still.
