Re: Distractions from Origami
Origami sort of is recreational maths. It gives your fingers exercise and is very mathematical! What do you mean by recreational maths anyway?

Re: Distractions from Origami
I take my father's university textbooks and read them and learn math far beyond my level.
Re: Distractions from Origami
So you can do origami during your lessons, because you know it all already!

Trampolines distract me, I am obsessive with trampolines.

Studies also distract... a lot.
All of my recent folds have been during class.

Re: Distractions from Origami
My maths teacher loves origami but gets really angry if you do it during the lesson. I was making a pleated parabola, which my friend called the universe because pleated parabola sounded too posh for him, anyway, the teacher caught me making it and confiscated it.
My friend was at me for ages afterwards saying "the maths teacher stole the universe! Algebra will become the only subject compulsary for all humans!"
It sounded funny then, but not when i typed i now.

Re: Distractions from Origami
The biggest thing that stops me folding is my lack of motivation to make tissue foil...

Re: Distractions from Origami
Guitar, skateboarding, and my girlfriend are probably the biggest distractions. I would say school too but I usually fold during school XD I have no clue how I have good grades. All I do is fold!
Re: Distractions from Origami
Luckily I don't have too many distractions- I probably one of few here under 20 who does not care at all for videogames or tv. I also don't care about social things- friends, girlfriends, etc.
So, probably skateboarding would be my biggest distraction- I'm obsessed with learning basically every flip trick ever invented, and I'm getting close.
School as well I guess, but I don't let that distract me much.
My book takes time from folding, but that is about origami, so I don't know if that counts as a distraction.
